so why has the nra changed its tune? maybe because it used to receive most of its funding from members, but today it receives the bulk of its money from gun manufacturers. the same folks who are against making illegal gun trafficking a federal crime.
let's review that: we're not talking about a law to limit the number or kinds of guns that you can have, or how many rounds they can hold, or even whether or not you have to be sane to buy one. they are against making illegal gun trafficking a federal crime.

you often hear gun advocates say that if we take guns away from 'honest citizens', the only people left with guns will be criminals. they're probably right, because gun manufacturers apparently want to ensure that criminals will always have access to their products, as long as it puts money in their pockets.
if you're a gun advocate, this article won't change your mind; belief is a powerful thing, and no amount of logic will overcome it. but maybe you'll at least think about it - your own thoughts with your own mind.
