the nra positions itself as a grassroots organization that's financed by membership dues from its members. that may have been true when it first began, but it's certainly
not the case now. the bulk of the nra's revenue now comes from gun manufacturers, the same folks that are dead set against making illegal gun trafficking a federal crime.
